Museums
Mansion of George Schwartz (Mavros, which means Black).
It is the private residence of the chairman of the cooperative. It was founded in 1787 and finished in 1798. Its ground floor was used for the needs of the cooperative and its interior is finely decorated and painted. It has got three floors, "katoy", "metzopatoma" and "anoy". By the maquette of the house, which is on the third floor, we know that it was built by Ioannis Zerbinos and was painted (FRESCOS) by L.Lolis

Church of St. George.
It was built at the end of 15th or the beginning of the 16th century. It has got remarkable frescos inside and rare icons. The most important of all is the icon of St. George on throne.

Center of Cultural Heritage of Ambelakia.
It came into existence in 1997. on the 24th of January 1998 its inauguration took place and it started to function after the tiding up of the old factory of textile. The program of the European Union, Rizari One/ Raphael, by the institutions and privates companies, financed it. It is presented on the CD-ROM "AMBELAKIA" - "The Jewel of Thessaly". In the center there is an exhibition of folklore, historical material and books. On the second floor there are looms and other tools of the textile factory.

Mansions
 There are 17 mansions, which have been saved till today and they are samples of the Greek Architectural Heritage. The leading one is the Mansion of George Schwartz, which functions as a museum whereas the others are private properties. It belongs to the Ministry of Culture and it is being reconstructed to function as a Museum of Demetrios Schwartz.

Libraries
There are 3 libraries in Ambelakia and they are the following:

  • Library of "Maniaris Legacy". It has 549 remarkable books mainly of the 16th, 17th and 18th century A.D. as well as manuscripts of the 14th century A.D.
  • Municipal Library of Ambelakia, with 1200 books.
  • Library of the Cultural Association of Ambelakia, with 400 books, founded in 1995.

Associations
  • CULTURAL ASSOCIATION OF AMBELAKIA:It was founded in 1986. It has got 100 members with a remarkable, cultural, and not only, offer.
  • ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION OF AMBELAKIA:Founded in 1987. 30 members. It has got a remarkable athletic offer, mainly in football.
  • There are also TWO ASSOCIATION of people from Ambelakia, who live in Larissa and Athens.
 

THE PRESENT WORK IS PART-FINANCED IN PERCENTAGE 75% FROM THE EUROPEAN FUND OF REGIONAL GROWTH AND AT 25% FROM NATIONAL RESOURCES.
